#Diplomacy: yes, please ... always neccesary at all times

#Diplomacy: yes, please … always neccesary at all times»

«Diplomacy is the art of telling people to go to hell in such a way that they ask you for directions on how to get there…»  This telling phrase is  classic Winston Churchill, rather than ourselves. Nevertheless, it is arguably the ultimate expression of perfect diplomacy and a crystal-clear example of what this absolutely fundamental term in Lifestyle Management means…

One might say that diplomacy is an art. After all, it is the ability to establish relationships with other people through negotiations in a way that is always respectful and, above all, cautious; always with delicacy and tact.

Diplomacy really does move mountains in all areas… For Personal Angels, however, we could say that it moves the entire Planet.

Why is diplomacy so important in Lifestyle Management? We could start with the fact that it is a job that, from start to finish, is based on communication between individuals and negotiation. From the first interview between the client and the PA, a relationship and an agreement is initiated: it includes the economic aspects, confidentiality and tasks to be carried out. There are many factors that come into play, and therefore, diplomacy must be present when it comes to agreeing what will and will not be done… This continues to be the case as the contractual relationship progresses: when the client requests something form the PA, the PA needs to be in constant contact with suppliers, with whom they will act as an ‘ambassador’ in order to find all the skills needed to carry out the assigned task. The success of each task carried out for the client will depend on this correct use of diplomacy.

Expressing things transparently, with sincerity, but finding that balance between being honest but not offensive, using empathy as a tool to achieve our goals, so that the parties involved in a negotiation both benefit without harming the other. This mixture of concepts and mechanisms make up this wonderful skill and ability that is intrinsic to the culture of the PA.
